At a time when corporate commitments to communities are expanding in scope and expectation, Niska exists to bring structure, insight, and visibility to those investments — in ways that are practical, credible, and accessible to business leaders and informed Canadians.
Niska Impact Analytics is a Canadian business startup advancing clarity, credibility, and leadership in corporate community investment. We are the organization behind The Impact Canada 100 Platform, Canada’s national benchmarking platform for credible, transparent and accessible information on corporate community investment and impact.
Organization: Niska Impact Analytics
Platform: Impact Canada 100
Focus: Corporate community investment leadership
Approach: Business-led, evidence-informed, partnership-aware
Geographical Focus: Canada
Corporate investment in communities plays a critical role in Canada’s social, economic, and environmental well-being. Yet this work is often fragmented across reports, partnerships, and initiatives that are difficult to assess, compare, or learn from. Niska was established to help address this gap.
Our purpose is to aggregate, organize, and communicate corporate community investment efforts in a way that:
Supports better decision-making by companies
Highlights leadership and accountability
Encourages stronger, more intentional partnerships with community partners
Contributes to a more informed national conversation on corporate social impact in Canada.
Impact Canada 100 is Niska’s flagship platform — a national benchmarking and recognition framework focused on companies investing meaningfully in bettering communities across Canada. The platform enables free public access to information on community investments, company priority focus areas, and leadership practices that demonstrate long-term commitment and results. The platform speaks to business executives, boards, policy-adjacent audiences and Canadians.
Impact Canada 100 is designed to:
As the platform evolves, Impact Canada 100 will continue to expand its tools and frameworks to reflect emerging practices and expectations in corporate community investment.
Niska Impact Analytics takes a practical, evidence-informed approach. Our work draws from:
Company disclosures and public reporting
Verified partnership information
Engagement with nonprofit and community partners
Independent research, media, and sector insights
While company-provided information forms a baseline, we prioritize corroboration and context to ensure credibility and relevance.
Our focus is not on promotional narratives, but on understanding how investments are structured, prioritized, and delivered in partnership with communities.
Niska Impact Analytics operates alongside TruNorra, an independent, editorially led platform focused on community partnerships, voices, and lived impact. While Niska concentrates on the corporate investment and leadership lens, TruNorra brings forward community-centered storytelling, partnerships, and public engagement. The two platforms are complementary but distinct in purpose and tone.
This separation allows:
Niska to engage directly with companies and business leaders
TruNorra to amplify nonprofit and community partners’ voices and project public trust as a community-driven platform
Both to collaborate where appropriate — including shared events and initiatives — without compromising their respective roles
Niska Impact Analytics works in a community impact space anchored by few complementary organizations some of who have for decades been contributing to establishing strong foundations of Canadian community impact leadership. We recognize as role as a facilitator, convenor and mobilizer of these organizations for shared impact. We continue to explore opportunities to bring together their unique roles and complementary strengths in the shared pursuit of sustained social impact and thriving communities across Canada.
